Those who saw the Bollywood film on its release day (August 20), say that there are shades of the Kollywood hit in it.
The similarities are that the heroine played by Deepika Padukone is blind and
Neil Nitin is in love with her, and the film is set in a slum. Neil Nitin due to his deep love for Deepika does a job so that she can regain her eyesight.
According to a Tamil director who saw both the versions: “Pradeep Sarkar has taken the basic love angle and the milieu of TMT, and made a glossy Hindi film, changed the nativity a bit and made it more commercial and modern.”
